Nicki Minaj Says She’s Entering Her ‘Billionaire Barbie’ Era & Appears to Confirm 2026 Album Release Date
Billionaire Barbie’s got a nice ring to it. Nicki Minaj announced she’s entering a new era, while calming the Barbz’s worries that plans for an album are back on track.
Minaj took to X over the weekend to explain she’s still looking to drop an album next March, and she teased the possibility of spinning the block for a second 2026 album. “I could put out an album tomorrow and still revolutionize the industry yet again on 3.27.26. And then turn around and still release another blockbuster 4th quarter of 26,” she wrote in a since-deleted post, per Complex.
Nicki continued: “The truth is (lol, I know…not another ‘the truth is’ tweet) lol ok last one b4 spaces. The truth is: I’m releasing NM6 on 3.27.26 b/c of the people who were in attendance at #GagCity I saw you. I want you to know that. I saw you. I heard you. I felt you. I love you.”
It appears Minaj could be hitting the road for another tour following the release of her sixth studio album. Complex also pointed out that Minaj teased documentaries and audiobooks on the way.
“Billionaire Barbie,” she wrote to X while introducing herself Saturday (Oct. 18). However, according to CEO Today, Minaj boasts a net worth of $190.5 million, making her the richest female rapper, though not quite a billionaire yet.
Billboard has reached out to her team for comment.
Last week, Minaj threatened to cancel her upcoming album while placing some blame on Jay-Z and continuing her feud with Roc Nation.
“They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ,” she posted. “I called the Barbz on the secret BARB phone & it was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. just like the casinooooooooooooooooooo. @sc.”
Jay-Z and Roc Nation did not respond to Billboard‘s request at the time.
In September, Nicki appeared to announce that she’d be dropping an album on March 27. Her post on X remains pinned to the top of her account.
Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 album arrived in December 2023, and the project debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 228,000 total album-equivalent units earned.
