Her first solo full-length project is due Oct. 24 via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. She wrote on social media that Love? Or Something Like It tells “a story of first love, heartbreak, and everything that comes after…. this one means everything to me.”

In a 38-second clip, The Little Mermaid actress narrates the beginning of said story while sitting in a gorgeous red tulle gown. “Once upon a time, there was a young girl that believed in love. She believed everyone belonged to someone, soul for soul. All she ever wanted in life was to find the truest form of love. Was it ever possible? And here’s what happened,” she says softly over swelling instrumentation.

Ahead of Love? Or Something Like It, Bailey’s released two solo singles in 2025 — “Back and Forth” and “Braveface” — and collaborated with Leon Thomas on “Rather Be Alone” on the Heel deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed sophomore album Mutt.

Bailey and her sister Chlöe have released two albums, 2018’s The Kids Are Alright and 2020’s Ungodly Hour, as part of their duo Chloe x Halle. The Kids Are Alright earned a nomination for best urban contemporary album at the 2019 Grammy Awards, where Chloe x Halle was also up for best new artist, and Ungodly Hour earned a best progressive R&B album nod at the 2021 Grammys. Ungodly Hour reached No. 16 on the Billboard 200.
