Taylor Swift’s tracks from The Life of a Showgirl are still holding on to the top 10 of the Hot 100 tightly, but Alex Warren and KPop Demon Hunters are making their way back into the chart. Billboard‘s chart experts explain why they think “Actually Romantic,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Wood” and more have fans in a chokehold, SNL‘s jokes about Billboard‘s No. 1s and more!
What song do you want to see as No. 1 on the chart next week? Let us know in the comments!
Jerah Milligan: What’s up, folks? It’s Jerah with The Hot 100 Show. Wait, wait, don’t go anywhere. I’m just covering for Tetris. You’re in the right spot. It’s a brand new week, and we’re counting down the top 10. We’re still talking Taylor Swift, but we’re also spreading the word about our favorite Demon Hunters this spooky season.
And I was at the All’s Fair red carpet asking stars for their thoughts, and seeing what’s been so funny about our Billboard No. 1s on Saturday Night Live. Check it out.
This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week, dated Oct. 25. At number 10 is “Actually Romantic.” The title track, “The Life of a Showgirl,” is at No. 9.
Elizabeth Berkley: From one show girl to another.
Jerah Milligan: I was gonna say, I was like, the connection is there.
Elizabeth Berkley: Yeah, I listened to it while getting ready tonight. So I’m channeling. I’m channeling, and I’m wearing my Versace. See.
Jerah Milligan: You see.
Elizabeth Berkley: The House of Versace.
Jerah Milligan: “Wood” is at eight.
Trevor Anderson: Yeah, when you said it was romantic for a second, I was like, “Where is this sentence gonna end.” This song’s got a lot of attention for the supposed beef that is brewing that maybe a lot of people did not even know was a real, you know, friction between Taylor and alleged other artists. So no surprise that, you know, it’s hanging on the top 10. I mean, like I said last week, we’re coming off a year where there’s been so much mess and drama between, you know, Drake and Kendrick and Megan and Nicki. And this year, we already had Nicki and Cardi for a good week there a few weeks ago, so people love these kind of celebrity feuds, especially ones that they probably maybe didn’t see coming or not so obvious ones. So no surprises. Hanging on. We’ll just, you know, see sort of if it becomes one of those cult classic things or if there’s more to it. But right now, having fun.
Keep watching for more!
