Offset Reveals Album Closer ‘Move On’ Is About Cardi B Relationship: ‘A Book That’s Closed’
Offset will be closing the book on his relationship with Cardi B on his new album, KIARI.
Set told the Associated Press that the album’s last track, “Move On,” will delve into ending that chapter of his love, but “it’s all love and peace” from his side.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,” he said. “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with.”
Offset continued: “It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
Cardi and Offset split last year when the Bronx rapper filed for divorce from the Migos rapper in August for the second time. The former couple began dating in early 2017 and have three children together (Kulture, Wave and Blossom).
Cardi spent the summer enjoying her new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs, which appears to be going strong heading into the fall.
While Cardi’s Am I the Drama? album is set to drop on Sept. 19, the Atlanta native is gearing up for his KIARI album to hit streaming services on Friday (Aug. 22).
The project will feature assists from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Gunna, YFN Lucci, Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend and Key Glock. He served up a preview of the album at his Boiler Room set in NYC on Sunday night (Aug. 17).
KIARI is Offset’s first solo LP since 2023’s Set It Off; both his sophomore album and Father of Four debut entered inside the Billboard 200′s top five.
