Maluma Signs With WME in All Areas: ‘The Sky Is the Limit’

Maluma has signed with WME in all areas, the agency announced on Monday (Aug. 18).

“I’m excited to be joining the team at WME! I’m just getting started and am looking forward to working alongside them in building this next chapter of my career,” the 31-year-old singer-songwriter said in a statement. “The sky is the limit, and I feel energized to be surrounded by a team that understands and believes in my vision.”

The signing comes a month after the Colombian star parted ways with longtime manager Walter Kolm, ending a 12-year partnership. At the time, the “Hawái” singer told Billboard that he was “building a new team” following the amicable split with Kolm.

To date, Maluma, whose melodic reggaetón songs led to a breakthrough in the early 2010s, has placed 24 No. 1s on Billboard‘s Latin Airplay chart. On the Hot Latin Songs chart, he has 16 top 10s, including his global hit “Hawái,” which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on that tally.

Most recently, Maluma released “Bronceador” and “Cosas Pendientes,” the first singles from his upcoming +Pretty +Dirty era album. Earlier this month, Maluma concluded three dates at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes, which followed his 12-city European arena tour.

Outside of music, Maluma has been the face of global brands like Adidas, Calvin Klein, Versace and BOSS. Last year, he debuted his own athletic-wear line, Remanence, designed and made sustainably in Colombia. In 2016, he launched a Medellín-based foundation, El Arte de Los Sueños, focused on transforming the lives of at-risk youth through art and music education.
