Lee & Crayola Are Bringing Playful Color Back to Workwear: Here’s How to Shop the Collection

Lee and Crayola are redefining workwear, giving it a colorful facelift.
Inspired by both brands’ Americana heritage and love for self-expression, this limited-edition collaborative effort includes a slew of creative apparel and accessory pieces for both men and women, starting at $39 and going up to $118. If you’re a fan of Crayola, you’ll notice that the collection mainly centers around fan-favorite discontinued crayons — eight, to be exact.
These retired colors have made a comeback, gracing everything from baby tees and overalls to unisex hoodies and chore jackets. You’ll see the hues Magic Mint, Raw Umber, Orange Red, Violet Blue and, of course, TikTok famous Dandelion. You’ll also see nods to some of Lee’s most iconic design details, including the brand’s nostalgic indigo railroad stripe pattern. The vibrant collection will be available at Lee-owned stores and websites in the U.S., Europe and China. It will also be sold online at Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Lee and Walmart.
“Crayola immediately brings to mind creativity, expression and a hint of childhood nostalgia. Layering this palette with Lee’s workwear resulted in a collaboration that embraces those feelings while being fresh, modern and made for today’s consumer,” said Joe Broyles, vice president of global collaborations at Lee, in a statement.
In celebration of self-expression and all things color, we are sharing our favorite pieces from the collection. We’ll be breaking down price, material, sizing options and styling just for you.
We can’t not talk about the Lee x Crayola Men’s and Women’s Bib Overall. While this collection does feature more traditional styles of overalls, this one is particularly cool thanks to the subtle details featured throughout. Retailing for $79.95, this unisex piece comes in a cream hue with Lee’s ’90s railroad stripes dyed with some of those retired Crayola colors.
The bib is chock-full of colorful additions such as co-branded patches and vibrant rivets that also pay homage to those retired crayon hues. Like any standard Lee bib, you’ve got traditional utility details including hammer loops, bib chest pockets and utility storage to hold just about anything from tools to crayons. The overall silhouette is available in three distinct styles: Lee’s traditional indigo railroad stripe, Raw Umber for men and a slim-fitting version in Orange Red for women.
Another standout piece is the Lee x Crayola Unisex Hoodie. You’ve got a total of six colors to choose from, with our favorite being Magic Mint. The style is made of breathable and snuggly cotton terry in an oversized fashion and comes in sizes XS to XXL. Each hoodie is adorned with Lee x Crayola branding and represents one of those retired crayons, with color names printed on the back. Can’t choose which color is your favorite? Not to fret. The unisex hoodie also comes in a Color Burst option that depicts each and every retired color, from Raw Umber to Violet Blue, on the back.
Veering into the world of bona fide workwear, we’ve got the Lee x Crayola Chore Jacket for both men and women. Retailing for $108.95, the jacket comes in more shades inspired by those retired crayons, including Orange Red and Lemon Yellow for women, and Magic Mint and Violet Blue for men. The men’s Chore Jacket is long and boxy, while the women’s style is cropped. No matter the length, the outerwear is made of cotton denim with a visual akin to corduroy. Sizing ranges from XS to XL.
Each jacket is equipped with whimsical, colorful trim and rivets, such as the overalls, creating textural and visual appeal. We can easily see this piece layered over one of the Lee x Crayola T-shirts or distressed graphic tees. While the Chore Jacket is meant to pair with the Lee x Crayola Carpenter Pants, we also think this piece would look amazing with baggy denim, be it jeans or cut-off shorts.
Speaking of, the Lee x Crayola Carpenter Pants are another favorite of ours. Retailing for $108.95, these utilitarian bottoms are the very definition of form and function. The pants come in sizes for both men and women. Like many of the pieces in this collection, it has colorful trim and rivets along with overdyed hues, a fancy dyeing technique that creates depth. Sizing runs from 24 through 32 for women and 28 through 38 for men.
For men, colorways include Magic Mint and Violet Blue, while women get Orange Red and Lemon Yellow. The women’s version is also available in that traditional indigo railway stripe. Of course, these wouldn’t be called Carpenter Pants if they didn’t have workwear details. A functional hammer loop gives way to nifty utility pockets and a cute pocket dedicated to your crayons.
Finally, we have the Lee x Crayola Pouch retailing for $39.95, a cutie little indigo railroad-striped pouch with three segmented pockets meant to snugly carry all of your Crayola products. Of course, you can see Lee x Crayola branding throughout.
