Carlos Vives, Grupo Niche & More: Who Had the Best New Latin Music Release This Week?

This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new music, including releases by Carlos Vives and Grupo Niche, Zoé, iLe, and Camila Fernández, to name a few.

Vives’ 1990s classic, “La Tierra del Olvido,” gets a breathe of fresh air thanks to his new collaboration with Grupo Niche. “We were able to bring that message into another musical universe: salsa,” Vives said in a statement about the collab with the iconic salsa group from Colombia. “It’s a celebration of who we are as Colombians, our diversity, and our cultural richness.”

Meanwhile, Zhamira Zambrano dabbles in bolero in “Quisiera Ella,” a poignant single about resilience and self-love. “Since I was little, I’ve loved boleros, and I wanted to explore beyond pop and tropical music,” Zambrano explained in a press release. “The bolero allows emotions to be expressed in a more romantic and powerful way.”

Other new releases this week include music from Ryan Castro and Grupo Frontera, Jasiel Nuñez, and Isabela Merced. Diferente Nivel and Carolina Ross’ “No Soy Tu Prioridad” won Billboard‘s latest Latin music poll with more than 41% of the vote. Which release this week do you think is best?
