A Series on Flow La Movie’s Life Is in the Works: Here’s Everything We Know
A series on the life and legacy of reggaetón hitmaker Flow La Movie (real name José Ángel Hernández) is in the works, Billboard can exclusively announce Thursday (Aug. 14).
The late Puerto Rican producer was one of the seven passengers in a private plane that crashed on Dec. 15, 2021, in the Dominican Republic. Among the victims were his partner Debbie Von Marie Jimenez Garcia and their children. Hernández was 36 when he died.
Named after his artistic moniker, the upcoming biographical series — produced by AH Entertainment, GLAD Empire, Conteni2 Media Group, The Bove Company and Ella Films, and written by Esteban Orozco — will narrate the real-life success story of the artist-producer beyond his contribution in Latin music.
“This series will not only tell the story of Flow La Movie as a producer, but also as a human being who dreamed, fought and created an empire for his family,” Camille Soto, owner of GLAD Empire and who managed the producer’s business during his lifetime, tells Billboard. “We are committed to portraying his life with respect, love and the greatness that characterized him, and to showing how music changed his life.”
Flow La Movie, which will begin production on Aug. 20 between the United States and Mexico, will also feature personal archives from the artist and never-before-seen footage from his colleagues and loved ones.
Viral content creators Carlos and Stephanie of Familia Latorre will portray Flow and his first wife, Keila, mother of his children. Other cast members include Ángel Negrón, Pedro González, Angélica Blasini and Xavier Antonio Morales Cruz, as well as the appearances by Latin artists MC Ceja, Casper Mágico, Kendo Kaponi, Nio García and Darell.
