Tyla Gets the Party Started With ‘WWP’ Mixtape: Stream It Now

Tyla is about to have us chanting “We wanna party!” all summer long with her new mixtape WWP that dropped Friday (July 25) via FAX and Epic Records.

The four-track pack includes two previously released singles “Bliss” and “Is It” as well as two new songs: “Dynamite,” featuring Wizkid, and “Mr. Media.” “When I thought of doing a mixtape called ‘WWP,’ I went back to all my old demos and I remembered the Wiz one,” she said of the 2022 demo during an exclusive listening session in London earlier this month. “And it was still good, like, after three years! I just told him, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to drop it.’”

At the same event, Tyla explained the meaning behind the title WWP. “I’ve been on this tip of enjoying life, not just partying, but just enjoyment with people that I love, with people that are a vibe,” the “Water” hitmaker said. “‘We wanna party’ is actually a South African chant, so we’ve been using it forever. And it’s been a thing for hyping up people and just that feeling of enjoyment. I thought it was perfect for the mixtape ’cause the music screams ‘we wanna party!’”

The Grammy-winning South African star is set to perform at the 2025 Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in New York’s Central Park on Sept. 27, which will be headlined by The Weeknd and Shakira. Ayra Starr and Mariah the Scientist are also featured on the lineup.
