PARTYNEXTDOOR Teams Up With Fortnite for New Playable Concert Event
PARTYNEXTDOOR is the latest artist to be tapped for a virtual concert in the video game Fortnite.
The R&B singer will virtually take fans from Toronto to Miami via luxury jet in his immersive music experience, which will be playable starting on Friday (Aug. 1) at 1:00 PM EST. Developed in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Immersive Music Studios and OVO Sound, the concert will start at the top of Toronto’s CN Tower before Fortnite players are transported on a private jet to the sands of South Beach for a tantalizing PND show. The experience will also include a lavish after-party at LIV in Miami Beach, all while Fortnite players engage in scavenger hunts, mini-games, and parkour levels.
The virtual performance will include some of his biggest hits, including “Break from Toronto,” “Make it To The Morning” and “Somebody Loves Me.” The code for the custom PARTYNEXTDOOR Fortnite island is 7024-5026-8823.
PARTYNEXTDOOR said in a statement on Thursday (July 31) that he’s a fan of Fortnite and was excited to be a part of the universe. “When the opportunity to create our own world came up, it was a natural fit,” he said in a statement.
The exciting news comes after Drake and PARTY kicked off their $ome $pecial $hows U.K. and Europe tour on July 20 in Birmingham. Drizzy and his OVO signee will wrap their second night in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on Thursday night (July 31).
