Luke Bryan Says a Concertgoer ‘Took It Too Far’ After Being Struck By Thrown Object During Live Show
Luke Bryan is responding after a recent incident involving the country music star being struck in the face by an object that was thrown onstage while he was performing his hit “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” in North Dakota.
During an interview with Taste of Country, Bryan recalled the moment, saying, “It’s the last song of the night. It was a big ole fun party, and I think one person just took it too far.” He added, “We see it. Every other entertainer out there is getting stuff — you get stuff thrown at ya … you hope that you can see who did it.”
Bryan took the moment in stride during his set, pausing for a moment before moving on with the song without comment. The singer said that if he had been able to see who threw the object, “I could have gone right to him. I probably would have jumped right off in there.” But, he also said that opting to go into the crowd would have just caused more issues.
“If I jump off in there, there were a lot of little kids down there,” he added. “At that point, if I’d even stopped it and pointed somebody out, it kills the vibe of the show.”
Of course, Bryan’s fellow music performers have also had to contend with objects being thrown onstage in recent years. Kelsea Ballerini, Bebe Rexha, Morgan Wallen, Steve Lacy and many others have had incidents of being hit by various items fans have thrown onstage, from hats to cell phones to bracelets.
Bryan seems to be focusing on his upcoming concerts instead. He has upcoming shows on his Country Song Came On Tour, including stops in St. Louis (July 31) and Cincinnati (Aug. 1).
Bryan was recently named as a first-round performer at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Honors. Additionally, the two-time CMA entertainer of the year winner’s popular Crash My Playa all-inclusive Caribbean concert vacation will return in 2026, set for Jan. 15-18 at Moon Palace Cancun.
