Justin Trudeau Sings Along to ‘Firework’ at Katy Perry’s Concert Shortly After Dinner Outing
Justin Trudeau was feeling the sparks at Katy Perry‘s concert in Montreal, with the former Canadian prime minister passionately belting along to the pop star’s performance of “Firework” while in the audience Wednesday night (July 30).
As captured in a clip that’s been circulating online, Trudeau bops along to the music underneath the flashing lights at the Bell Centre, visibly yelling out the lyrics, “Make ’em go, ‘Oh, oh, oh’/ You’re gonna leave ’em all in awe, awe, awe!” In another video, he looks up at Perry fondly as she performs.
The politician’s concert outing comes just a couple of days after he and the musician enjoyed dinner and drinks together at a restaurant in Montreal on Monday (July 28). Fans are eager to know whether the pair are just friends or something more, especially as Perry and Orlando Bloom’s teams recently confirmed that the singer and the Pirates of the Caribbean star — with whom she shares daughter Daisy Dove — have broken up after nine years together. Trudeau went through a public breakup in August 2023, splitting from estranged wife Sophie Gregoire, with whom he has three kids.
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the pair’s reps told Billboard in early July, shortly after which the exes appeared together in a photo from a family vacation with their children. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
The vocalist has a handful of Canadian shows left on her Lifetimes Tour, which kicked off in April in support of her new album, 143. Following stops in North America and Australia, Perry will take her trek through Latin America, Europe and Asia.
