Which food services passed or failed their health inspection: May 25 – May 31

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County Health Department released inspection reports for restaurants checked from May 25 through May 31.

One food service failed its inspection:

• Limp Lizard BBQ & Catering – 201 First Street, Liverpool, NY

This establishment received 14 violations, with one in critical condition.

Improper hot holding of potentially hazardous foods (critical):

The inspector found that there were foods in the cook line hot hold cabinet that were below their desired temperatures of 140 degrees Fahrenheit or above.

This was corrected, and the food was voluntarily discarded. The hot hold will be checked by service personnel, and the door seal will be replaced.

Food not protected in general: The inspector found some squeeze bottles not labeled as to their contents.

Improper cleaning, washing, and sanitizing of equipment and utensils: The inspector found Chlorine residue in the dish machine rinse cycle, at 0 ppm instead of 50 ppm (parts per million), which is required.

The inspector found a meat slicer in the prep kitchen that was not clean, with food soil on the blade guard, back of the blade, and tray. Ice slides inside the ice machine, with some mildew-like deposits. The food scale in the kitchen was not clean.

This violation was found three times.

The inspector found the bottom shelf of the glass door cooler in the kitchen, and all bar coolers found with standing water on the bottom shelves. The interior of the microwave was not clean with food soil. Lower shelving in the prep kitchen was not clean, corroded.

This violation was found four times.

Improper sanitary facilities and controls: The Inspector found the Ladies’ toilet room lacked a covered receptacle.

Improper construction and maintenance of physical facilities: The inspector found that the floor area under the cook line equipment (grills and fryers side) was not clean.

Many locations passed their inspections between May 25 through May 31.
