‘Oh Boy’: Sabrina Carpenter Appears to Tease New Music With Video & Cryptic Billboards

Sabrina Carpenter is up to something. This week, the pop star has been taking to the streets to tease a new project, first with a clip of herself trying to hitchhike followed by a series of mysterious billboards.

On Monday (June 2), Carpenter first got fans paying attention by posting a video on social media featuring the “Espresso” singer wearing revealing cutoff shorts and high heels, standing next to a suitcase on the side of a dusty road. As a truck goes by without stopping to pick her up — despite her raised thumb — she looks offended before trying again to summon a car.

“Oh boy,” she says cheekily in a voice-over.

The Grammy winner’s team further teased that something is in the works by sharing a collection of photos of roadside billboards, “spotted on interstate-69.”

Stamped with Carpenter’s initials in the bottom left corner, one of the posters reads “I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them.”

Another simply shows “Amen,” while a third billboard displays “Hey men!”

According to fans on X, a fourth one with the word “Manchild” on it has also gone up in Texas.

Billboard has reached out to Carpenter’s rep for more info.

If the Girl Meets World alum is dropping new music soon, it’ll follow the February release of her Short n’ Sweet deluxe edition. Featuring additional songs “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman” and “Bad Reviews” — plus a remix of Billboard Hot 100-topper “Please Please Please” featuring Dolly Parton — the LP expanded on the original version of Carpenter’s first-ever No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

Since first releasing Short n’ Sweet in August, Carpenter has been supporting the album by hitting the road on her very first arena tour. After spending the fall traveling through the United States and Canada, she made her way through Europe this spring.
