Meet ‘Electric Bloom,’ Pop Band at the Center of New Disney Musical Comedy Series: Watch the First Teaser Trailer

Following in the footsteps of Hannah Montana and The Cheetah Girls before them, it’s time to meet your new favorite fictional Disney pop stars: Electric Bloom.

The new musical comedy series Electric Bloom tells the story of how three budding BFFs — Posey (Lumi Pollack), Jade (Carmen Sanchez) and Tulip (Ruby Marino) — became “the biggest band in the world and the best friends in the universe,” according to a press announcement. Billboard is exclusively premiering the first teaser trailer below before the show’s July 10 premiere on Disney Channel.

In the teaser, we see the musical trio meet for the first time, play their first gig and come up with their botanical band name, en route to pop cultural domination.

Grammy- and Emmy-winning songwriter Diane Warren — a 16-time Oscar best original song nominee — wrote the majority of the music for the series, including the theme song and all the songs in the pilot episode. Warren also serves as an executive producer on the show, alongside her longtime A&R Bahareh Batmang and series creators Eric Friedman, Alex Fox and Rachel Lewis. Jody Hahn directed and executive-produced the pilot.

Also co-starring with Pollack, Sanchez and Marino is Nathaniel Buescher as Lucas, the “class crush” and one of Electric Bloom’s early supporters.

The first two episodes of Electric Bloom — which previously had the working title How We Became the Biggest Band in the World — will air July 10 at 8:35 p.m. ET following the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. New episodes will air weekly after that on Disney Channel. The first 13 episodes will start streaming Sept. 17 on Disney+, and more episodes will roll out in October.
