Feeling great! Breezy and comfortable Thursday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The mainly dry weather is here for another day! Soak it in before the risk of rain returns heading into the weekend. Get the latest details below…

A break from the rain, but for how long?

The mainly dry and brighter stretch continues, but for how much longer? Mother Nature is going to be kind for the most part the rest of the week as you can see below…

Outside of a sprinkle or two courtesy of a weak cold front moving through, dry weather prevails Thursday afternoon.

We expect to see some more sun Thursday and probably to a somewhat lesser extent Friday, but it still looks pretty nice to end the week. Also, the sun will probably be filtered at least a little by the wildfire smoke.

Later Friday afternoon and into the evening some spotty showers could develop, but it’s not until Friday night into Saturday morning that the rain chances come up.

Feeling comfortably warm

High temperatures remain pretty seasonable for the rest of the week into Father’s Day weekend, with no significant warm-ups or cooldowns in store.

Washout for dad this weekend?

You probably saw on our rain chances graph above the threat for rain increases a little heading into the weekend.

A weak area of low pressure is forecast to head to our south starting Saturday, so there probably will be a few scattered showers from time to time, especially across the North Country and Southern Finger Lakes. That low slowly moves to our south and east to end of the weekend. This means the rain chances are fairly low and scattered in nature with plenty of dry time for both Saturday and Sunday.
