CNY landscaper still busy despite wet season

FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — So far this month, there have been two inches of rain, following the tenth wettest May on record. All of this weather is making it difficult for outdoor businesses to get the job done right.

For Swimm Landscape, it’s peak season.

“We’re always busy until almost the end of November,” said Paul Swimm, owner of Swimm Landscape.

But in order to finish the job, Mother Nature needs to be on their side.

“At times we get slowed down with the finish work, as in soil, and sanding patios to be able to finish jobs nicely,” said Swimm.

The wet weather we’ve been seeing lately in central New York has put Swimm a little behind schedule this season.

“A lot of times we’re grading things out and having to come back. But again, we do the best we can. We’re always busy. We have the greatest crews and the greatest guys working for us,” said Swimm.

But rain or shine, his workers are always prepared.

“For the most part, we have tents where we need to and in really big rains, the guys will sit in the truck, take a quick break and then get right back at it when it’s lighter,” said Swimm.

If you’re interested in getting landscaping done, the best time to book is now, regardless of the weather, because you could be waiting months to get the job done.
