Young Thug Responds to Gunna Seemingly Covering Up His YSL Tattoo
Young Thug has reacted to photos of Gunna that seemingly show that the Atlanta rapper has covered up his YSL tattoo.
A photo of a shirtless Gunna working out hit social media, and fans noticed that the YSL logo usually on his left bicep had been covered with flames of ink.
The viral pics eventually made it onto Thug’s radar, and the YSL boss shaded Gunna while referencing the Alford plea deal he took in December 2022.
“I mean… he said it must end lol,” Thugger wrote under OurGenerationMusic‘s post to Instagram.
As part of Gunna’s Alford plea, he admitted to the prosecution that YSL was “a music label and a gang,” and he had “personal knowledge that members or associates of YSL have committed crimes and in furtherance of the gang.”
“I recognize, acknowledge and deeply regret that my talent and music indirectly furthered YSL the gang to the detriment of my community,” prosecutors read to the courtroom in a statement written by the rapper. “YSL as a gang must end.”
Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow, maintained that his client did not cooperate with authorities to impact Thug and other members of the YSL RICO case. Gunna ended up pleading guilty to a single charge and was sentenced to a five-year suspended sentence and was released due to time served.
As for Thug, he finally regained his freedom after reaching a plea deal on Oct. 31, 2024. He spent over two years behind bars as the longest-running trial in Georgia’s history dragged on at a snail’s pace.
Thugger was asked about his relationship with Gunna during his GQ interview last month and he didn’t provide much of any clarity with his response. “I know everybody wondering that,” he replied. “I don’t know.”
Fans also noticed in April that any mention of Gunna on the YSL official label Instagram had been scrubbed from existence. Thugger could possibly address the situation on his upcoming UY SCUTI album, which is expected to arrive in June.
