According to a Friday (May 16) report by People, court documents obtained by the publication indicate that Bailey sought out the custody order for the safety of both herself and 16-month-old Halo, alleging to the court that the Blame the Chat rapper abused her both physically and emotionally on multiple occasions.

She also requested the Twitch streamer (born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) not be given visitation rights or be permitted to take Halo outside of Los Angeles County — instead opting for weekly supervised visits overseen by an outside company — and cited his alleged history of hiding and taking Halo away from her, issuing threats to do so and being uncooperative in co-parenting the toddler.

Billboard has reached out to representatives for both Bailey and DDG for comment.

The “Angel” singer’s petition for custody was filed in the wake of her also being granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, which requires him to stay more than 100 yards away from both mother and son through June 4, which is when the former couple’s next court hearing is scheduled.

Meanwhile, DDG accused Bailey of keeping baby Halo away from him back in March via his single “Don’t Take My Son.” At the time, he claimed via a Twitch livestream that he actively wanted to avoid going to court, as a legal proceeding “makes everything more messy than what it is.”

After giving birth to Halo in December 2023, Bailey split from DDG nearly a year later in October 2024. According to a different set of court documents obtained by Billboard, the singer alleged that DDG’s physical abuse started at the beginning of this year, during an altercation while dropping Halo off in his care.
