Doja Cat Finally Releases ‘Crack’ & It’s Available for Only 24 Hours
Doja Cat heard from the fans, and she’s giving them a little Cinco De Mayo gift. There’s been demand for her to release a track titled “Crack” she previewed in 2022 on Instagram Live, and it’s finally available on her website for download on Monday (May 5).
Fans better act fast, since it’s going to be up for only 24 hours. “Crack” was left on the cutting room floor ahead of her 2023 Scarlet album, as the catchy track didn’t make the final cut.
“It’s not the lead i’m just giving it to the people who asked for it,” she wrote to X on Friday (May 2) while clarifying that “Crack” isn’t tied to her upcoming Vie album.
Doja also promised she’d “put it out” in the comment section of a recent TikTok, and she delivered on that promise Monday.
“Crack” finds Doja Cat in her rapping bag over twitchy production. “He said I’m sexy in red, now, won’t hear but we just left pound town,” she raps with a salute to Sexyy Red on the raunchy track.
In April, Doja previewed a 16-song tracklist for her Vie album, which included cuts titled “Break My Heart,” “Take Me Dancing,” “Anything,” “Aint News,” “Slow Burn,” “Wood Holly,” “Did I Lie” and “Appreciation.” At the time, she also previewed another unreleased track with the pop funk-leaning “Jealous Type.”
It’s unclear when the album is slated to arrive, but 2025 appears to be shaping up as another busy campaign for the Grammy-winning artist. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Jack Harlow for their “Just Us” collaboration, which reached No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100.
