Chuck Hafner’s dump truck hit Park St. Bridge, driver taken to hospital

Update at 11:50 a.m. on 5-27-25: According to a spokesperson for Syracuse Police, the dump truck — which is likely totaled — was Chuck Hafner’s, and the driver was from Liverpool.

The driver was taken to the hospital to be evaluated after complaints of head pain.

According to the spokesperson, he was also given multiple tickets for no seat belt, disregarding a traffic control device, and exceeding clearance.

There is no damage to the Park Street Bridge.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — It has been confirmed to NewsChannel 9 that Syracuse’s Park Street Bridge has been hit.

911 said it was a dump truck that hit the structure.

The accident happened around 8:40 a.m. One officer on the scene told NewsChannel 9 that the driver was taken to a nearby hospital, but does not know at this time the extent of their injuries.

Syracuse Police, Syracuse Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance are on the scene.
