Billie Eilish Hopes You Liked Those Fake AI Images of Her At the 2025 Met Gala: ‘I Wasn’t Even There’

There were the usual allotment of eye-popping fashion whoas and uh-ohs at this year’s Met Gala. And while fans and the media love to obsess over who wore what and how, sometimes A-listers who didn’t even go get drawn into the conversation. Take, for instance, Billie Eilish.

While it certainly seemed like she dove into this year’s theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” with her oversized blue suit accented by rose on her lapel, don’t believe the hype. Eilish posted a video on Wednesday (May 14) debunking the reports that she made the scene in New York, noting that she was more than 3,000 miles away.

“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year Met Gala being ‘trash,’” Eilish began in an Instagram Story in which she casually chomped on an ice cream cone. “I wasn’t there!” she added before busting into an elated cackle. “That’s AI! I had a show in Europe that night. Let me be! I wasn’t even there!”

In fact, Eilish was in Amsterdam for a series of shows on May 4 and 5 (the night of the Gala) at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.

Eilish wasn’t alone in getting artificially inserted into the conversation while on tour. There were also AI images of Katy Perry that made the rounds, which the “Woman’s World” singer swatted away by posting a pic on Instagram the day after the Gala in which she is wearing an unconstructed black pin-striped jacket and liquid latex skirt with the message, “couldn’t make it to the MET, I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL‼️) P.s. this year I was actually with my mom so she’s safe from the bots but I’m praying for the rest of y’all.”
