The Best Lines from Young Thug & Future’s New Song ‘Money on Money’

Young Thug is officially back.

Today, he dropped a new song and video, “Money on Money,” featuring one of his favorite collaborators in fellow Atlanta native Future. The two superstars channeled Watch the Throne‘s classic “Otis” music video where Jay-Z and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) dismantled a very expensive car and welded it back together to make something you would see in a Mad Max film.

The pair teamed up earlier this year on Lil Baby‘s single “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber,” and the three rappers have floated the idea of doing a full-length project together. If you remember, Future and Thug did their own Watch the Throne: Atlanta essentially in 2017 with their joint album Super Slimey.

Produced by Wheezy, the “Money on Money” beat is meant to be played in a car —preferably one with a trunk that rattles — and both Thugger and Pluto spit some witty lines… with a couple of them seemingly aimed at Gunna (or at least open to interpretation).

Their rift allegedly stems from the Drip or Drown rapper’s controversial decision to take a plea deal in 2022, as the lengthy YSL RICO case was getting started after he spent around eight months behind bars. And while Thug and his lawyers wanted to be granted permission for him and Gunna to work together, he sent out (and deleted) a tweet saying for his artist and label mate to “stop acting like we friends on the Internet,” even as his dad stood by Gunna after he was released, making this whole ordeal very complicated.

Now, with his highly anticipated album UY Scuti on the way, here are some of the best lines from the project’s banger of a lead single.
