Eric Church Launching Free the Machine Tour This Fall: ‘These Shows Will Be Different Than Anything You’ve Ever Seen’
Eric Church is already gearing up for the release of his new album, Evangeline vs. The Machine on May 2, but this fall he will take that new project on the road when he launches his Free the Machine Tour, with 22 arena shows starting Sept. 12.
Joining Church on varying dates on the tour are openers Elle King, Marcus King Band and Charles Wesley Godwin. The tour will include stops in Boston, Detroit, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Philadelphia and more.
Church first announced the tour directly with members of his Church Choir fanclub. In a video sent directly to his Church Choir members, he said, “From front to back, these shows will be different than anything you’ve ever seen or heard from us before. I cannot wait to see you on the road for this tour.”
Tickets for the majority of the shows will be available to the general public starting May 9 at 10 a.m. local time, with the Philadelphia date going on sale May 16. Members of the Church Choir will have early access to tickets through the Church Choir presale, starting May 5 at 10 a.m. local time. A registration presale via Seated, available to non-premium Church Choir members and the general public, kicks off Tuesday, May 6, at 10 a.m. local time.
Beyond his upcoming Free the Machine Tour, Church is slated to perform two To Beat the Devil residency shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 16-17, followed by a two-night stint at Nashville venue The Pinnacle for Evangeline vs. The Machine Live on May 23-24. In July, he will headline a unique triple header at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with a trio of sold-out shows: Eric Church vs. The Machine, Eric Church vs. The ECB and Eric Church vs. The Guitar.
