Crash in Chenango County leaves New Hartford man dead


OXFORD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A weekend crash in Chenango County has left a New Hartford man dead, according to New York State Police.
Police were called to State Route 12 in the town of Oxford at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1. Upon their arrival, they found a vehicle on fire, being attended to by the Oxford Fire Department. Police say that the fire was extinguished and discovered one deceased person.
Further investigation found that the car — driven by 25-year-old Christoper Ojuro of New Hartford — was traveling northbound on State Route 12. Ojuro’s car went off the roadway, where it then struck a guide rail. The car also eventually hit a tree before catching on fire.
Police say Ojuro was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
