Excellus BCBS and Family Care Medical Group have reached an agreement
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — An update many have been waiting for: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and Family Care Medical Group have announced a new contract agreement after weeks of contentious negotiations.
The agreement will be effective starting Jan. 1, 2025, and will keep FCMG in the provider BCBS network.
“While contract negotiations are a standard part of our business and very typical for this time of year, it is never lost on us how important it is for our members that we reach an agreement and keep the doctors and hospitals they trust in our network,” said Jim Reed, president and CEO of Excellus BCBS.
Not even two weeks ago, NewsChannel 9 reached out wondering where they stood on the agreement. Excellus quickly wrote back, saying they were “optimistic that an agreement will be reached by the end of the year.”
Members with questions about their benefits or coverage at FCMG can call Excellus BCBS Customer Care using the number on the back of their member card. For more provider contract updates click here.
