Nicest weather of the summer headed our way

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – We have some nice dry and comfortable air in place in Central New York but how long does it last? Find out below…

This is more like it

A refreshing change to the weather in Central New York as less humid air arrived and we enjoyed mainly sunny skies.

High pressure moves closer to us for Friday and Saturday so expect more sunshine and less wind.  Temperatures begin to rebound into the 80s but without a return (yet) of the humidity. The quiet weather looks to last into the end of the weekend on Sunday.

There is a weakening cold front in Canada getting close to us by Sunday, but it is starved for moisture so for now we have only a low chance for showers to end the weekend.  The vast majority of Central New York ends up dry this weekend.

Enjoy this much welcomed break in our weather!

When does the summer mugginess return?

It is July so you know the humidity will return.  It is a gradual process, but our dew points rise close to 70 degrees by the middle of the week while temperatures are in the mid-80s.  This leads to an increasing chance for showers and storms.
