Warmer with more clouds, but still dry Sunday

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – We are in the midst of the best weekend weather of the year so far here in Central New York! After a pleasant Saturday, we have a warming trend in store for the days ahead. Details are below…

Quiet weather overnight

There will be a few clouds overhead tonight, but conditions will remain quiet and dry. Lows will be on the cool side, ending up in the 40s for most.

Temperatures will be trending upward not only during the day but also at night over the next several days, so enjoy this relatively comfortable sleeping weather while it lasts!

Another nice day Sunday

We can expect a bit more cloud cover, but dry weather will prevail on Father’s Day.

Look for those winds to switch around to more of a southerly flow on Sunday. This will bump up our temperatures to reach the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Heat wave in store

Very hot and humid air will be moving over Central New York starting Monday. Expect those high temperatures to reach the lower 90s. Dew point temperatures will also be on the rise. These are a great indicator of the comfort level outside. The higher the dewpoint, the more humid it feels. Dewpoints will soar up into the upper 60s and lower 70s making it feel tropical outside! High temperatures will be up into the mid and upper 90s from Tuesday through Thursday.

Be sure to drink plenty of water during this stretch. Make sure you have your fans and air conditioners ready to go as well! It still looks to remain hot by Friday with a high of 90, but some relief in the form of a few showers and storms is expected by the afternoon.
