Three local districts pass revised school budgets


CENTRAL NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) — After rejecting the initial school budgets last month, voters in the Cazenovia, Ithaca and Newfield school districts approved revised budgets on Tuesday, June 18.
Newfield’s budget passed with 387 yes votes against 261 no votes.
Cazenovia needed to get at least 60% of voters to vote in favor of the budget last month, which it missed by 34 votes, but only needed a simple majority for the second vote.
The revised budget for Cazenovia passed with 1,127 yes votes to 546 no votes.
Ithaca’s revised budget passed with 4,979 yes votes beating out 1,736 no votes. Voters in Ithaca also approved the proposition for appropriation and expenditure of Capital Reserve Funds with 4,593 yes votes to 2,104 no votes.
