Tell Me Something Good: Trampolines

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) You have to admit, the sport has its ups and downs.

But it’s not hard to figure out what brings these young athletes here.

They are part of the trampoline program at Blaze Gymnastics in Cicero… thought to be one of the only such programs in the state. Built to serve kids that can’t sit still.

The Blaze trampoline program has only been going for six years, but testing this spring has shown that some of these athletes have some national potential.

Any kid can find their place here. This is a very wonderful environment for kids to be in and success is secondary to their passion. If you look at the kids in here, you’re going to see that they love being here and they love what they do.

Melissa Diegel, Trampoline Coach

Several trampolinists… that is the term for these athletes… work twelve to sixteen hours a week, in pursuit of elite status, and Olympic dreams are realistic. You’ll see Trampoline on the schedule for the Olympics in Paris this summer. And as you’re planning your viewing schedule, you might want to take a little advice.
