Summer fun is coming to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo

(WSYR-TV) — While the animals are the main attraction at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, there’s a lot more to do there. Friends of Bridge Street Ted Fox and Carrie Large are here to fill us in on how we can keep our families (and ourselves) entertained this summer, as well as how we can support the zoo.
Coming up Monday, June 24, the zoo will host the Tee Off FORE the Animals Golf Tournament at the elegant and historic Bellevue Country Club. The captain-and-crew tournament will feature breakfast on the cart, lunch on the course and a post-tournament dinner in the clubhouse, as well as on-course contests, animal greeters and 18 holes of championship golf. It’s all to support the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in their mission to preserve and protect animal species.
August 2, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo will host its annual Brew at the Zoo event. It’s an annual beer-tasting fundraiser features a selection of regional craft beers, wines and cocktails. Friends of the Zoo is offering designated driver tickets for $20 and reserved parking for $15 per spot. Tickets are on sale now!
This year is also the “year of the dragon” at the zoo. Dragons Reign! brings massive, animatronic dragons to the zoo from Memorial Weekend through Halloween. The exhibit features 10 “species” of dragons on display. The Dragons Reign! exhibit is free with paid zoo admission; zoo members receive free admission.
