Stuffy tonight, but storms bring change Thursday

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – The 90 degree heat of Wednesday is exiting soon. When do we turn cooler and less humid? Find out below…

Shower/storm chances increase rest of the week

It’s a balmy and muggy tonight making it tough for sleeping without any AC. It’s also mainly dry tonight with just a few spotty showers and storms possible, especially this evening and towards sunrise ahead of an approaching warm front.

After 8 am Thursday it’s mainly dry through about noon, but during the afternoon we expect a line of showers and storms to sweep across CNY from west to east with a cold front.

A few of these storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds, heavy rain and large hail, but the risk for severe storms is low.

Behind the Thursday afternoon cold front passage, temperatures cool out of the 80s and back into the low to mid 70s by Thursday evening with lower humidity and some sun to round out the day.

Cooler, less humid and showery late week/weekend

An upper level and surface storm system spin in from the northwest to end the week and unfortunately probably sticks around into the weekend. This system likely produces at least a scattering of showers to round out the week into the weekend.

We’ll feel a cooler high in the low 70s Friday and probably struggling to get out of the 60s over the weekend.

Why so cool and somewhat unsettled for the end of the week and beyond? Find out here.
