Second CBP Blind Bay open house tonight in Clayton

CLAYTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – The second open house for the  Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) proposal to build a new facility on Blind Bay will be tonight in Clayton.

CBP is trying to replace its aging facility of Wellesley Island with a new station according to the organization.

However, the proposal to bring a station to Blind Bay has drawn strong opposition. Politicians representing the area from all sides have joined the fight against the Blind Bay and another alternative location in Clayton.

Area residents came out to the Cerow Arena in Clayton to voice their concerns about the CBP project.

Tonight’s session will also be at the Cerow Arena and run from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. More information can be found at this website.
