NYSP investigating suspicious fire in Jefferson County

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – New York State Police are looking into the cause of suspicious fire that happened Monday morning, June 24, in the Jefferson County town of Leray.

Around 10:11 a.m. Monday, State Police in Watertown were on patrol and saw smoke at 28060 County Route 129 in Leray. A preliminary investigation revealed that a fire happened at a shed next to Sweet Haven Holy Church of God.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
