NYSP investigating deadly UTV crash in Jefferson County


WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – The New York State Police are investigating a UTV crash that left one person dead and another seriously injured in Saturday night in Jefferson County.
Around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night, Troopers out of the state police headquarters in Watertown responded to a single UTV personal-injury accident at 24851 Mullin Road in the Town of Brownville.
An investigation determined a Polaris Ranger 900 UTV was traveling south on Mullin Road and struck a utility pole after losing control and exiting the right shoulder of the roadway. The UTV was found on its passenger side facing north in the west shoulder.
The operator was identified as 38-year-old Timothy Queior of Dexter and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was identified as 28-year-old Brandon Sherman, who is also of Dexter. He was flown by Lifeflight to Upstate Hospital with serious injuries.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Guilfoyle Ambulance and the Brownville Fire Department.
The investigation currently is continuing.
