Fundraiser to be held at Swallow’s to honor the fallen heroes

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — T-shirts, bracelets, and cash donations. Our community hasn’t stopped coming together to honor and support the families of two police officers working on a Sunday in April, killed in a hail of gunfire.

Another event is coming up for the loved ones of Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Michael Hoosock.

Fallen Heroes

Retired Syracuse Police Detective Sergeant Brian McGinn is helping to organize the funding boost for the families.

“After a few weeks, you start to think, are, is the public going to forget about this? And that’s not the case. When you run things like this, you, our kind of motto for this fundraiser is never forgotten, that we’re still here, we’re still thinking about ya. We still love ya. We’re with ya,” said McGinn.

If you want to be with them, mark your calendar for June 23 at Swallow’s Restaurant, on South Avenue in Syracuse, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets are $50, which includes music, food, soda, and a commemorative t-shirt.

You can buy them ahead of time or the day of at Swallow’s. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the fallen officers’ families.
