Dunkin’ hosts annual Iced Coffee Day fundraiser


SYRACUSE N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The coffee chain Dunkin’ announces the return of Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day on Thursday, June 20, the first day of summer.
Celebrated once a year, $1 from every iced coffee sold at participating Dunkin’ locations will be donated to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.

In Syracuse funds raised will go to support Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, and go toward updating the hospital’s gaming systems, game library, and new gaming technology.
“We are thrilled to once again be the beneficiary of Iced Coffee Day from our surrounding Dunkin’ locations,” said Upstate Foundation Development Director Danielle Bright. “Our gaming program at the hospital, which provides a fun, creative outlet and escape for patients undergoing care here at the children’s hospital.
Bright says that playing games while at the hospital helps ease the patient’s fears by letting their minds focus on something else while awaiting surgery, getting blood drawn, or radiation.
Iced Coffee Day has raised more than $322,000 for nonprofit organizations in Central New York, and raised $36,000 for Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
