Could rain interrupt Friday evening plans?

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — After hitting 90 degrees for the 5th time this week, some of us are seeing a few showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon.
Now, not all of us will get wet.

Some of the thunderstorms Friday afternoon could be strong to severe with damaging winds, along with frequent lightning and torrential downpours.
Now back to the 90-degree weather…
This stretch of 5 days is the longest stretch of 90-degree weather since July 2022.
The average number of 90 degree days in a summer in Syracuse is 10. So far in 2024, there have been seven days of high temperatures of 90 degrees or better.
