Clouds are stubborn but should break up a bit Tuesday

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – It felt and looked more like October Monday with clouds and readings struggling to reach the low 60s. When does summer return? Find out below…

Clouds prevail, but it stays mainly dry

Clouds will have the upper hand into much of Tuesday, so don’t count on seeing much in the way of sunshine, but other than a bit of patchy drizzle/mist, no rain of substance is expected.

Good news if you want/need to mow and or would like to catch the Syracuse Mets in action Tuesday evening?

Brighter and warmer days ahead

Clouds are still going to be plentiful to start Tuesday, but we think enough dry air sneaks in combined with the strong mid-June sun angle to help produce limited sun from late Tuesday morning into the afternoon.

Thanks to a bit of sun likely coming out Tuesday highs should warm well into the 60s to possibly 70 with enough sun. Keep in mind, this is still below our average high for this time of year which is in the mid-70s.

More sunshine is expected to be around Wednesday and Thursday aiding in a nice warm up midweek. Highs warm well into the 70s Wednesday and 80s come Thursday with a southwest wind assisting in the warm up too.

Rain chances return late week

A cold front is slated to arrive late Thursday night into Friday with some showers and possibly a few storms.

Highs are cooling back into the 70s to round out the week.
