Brighter start to the week ahead

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – It was a cloudier Sunday with showers to out the weekend, but will rain chances linger into the start of the new week? Details are below…

Mainly dry & foggy for some overnight

The culprit for the showers to round Sunday and start Sunday night was a weakening area of low pressure that scooted just south of the region late Sunday. This low continues to weaken and move away from CNY leaving us with a lingering spotty shower and areas of fog.

Lows will be on the mild side, ending up within a few degrees of 60.

Warmer, brighter days ahead

It still looks like we heat up even more in the coming days. Will the weather cooperate for your pool plans and a mow. Click here to find out.

High pressure builds back in with more in the way of sunshine for Monday and Tuesday. Highs rise into the low 80s to start the week but should keep climbing into the mid to upper 80s come Tuesday and Wednesday.

Shower/storm chances increase midweek

With the warmth comes more humidity. The increasing humidity combined with an approaching cold front later Wednesday afternoon and night is expected to trigger scattered showers and storms.

The cold front itself slides through Thursday morning with showers and a few storms tapering to a few more showers and possibly a storm or two Thursday afternoon.

We are cooler and turning less humid Thursday too with highs near 80.
