Bisons catcher released from hospital after being hit by bat on follow-through

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo Bisons catcher was released from a Syracuse-area hospital Saturday after being hit in the head by the follow-through of a bat during Friday night’s game against the Syracuse Mets, the team announced.
During the seventh inning, Payton Henry was struck in the back of the head on the follow-through of a batter’s swing. The 26-year-old was tended to by medical personnel and later stretchered off the field before being taken to a Syracuse-area hospital.
The Bisons said Saturday that Henry “is doing well as he continues to rest and recover.”
Following the incident, the Bisons-Mets game was called, with Syracuse winning 4-2.
