2024 Founder’s Day of Caring food drive at NewsChannel 9
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Thursday, June 13, and Friday, June 14, 2024, Nexstar will celebrate 28 years since its founding in 1996.
Inspired by the service delivered to our local communities every day, each Nexstar work location — for us, NewsChannel 9 — will lead volunteer service efforts on that day.
This year we (WSYR-TV) will be participating once again in a food drive to support the Salvation Army — and you can help too!
You can drop your canned goods, cereal, juice, or other non-perishable items at NewsChannel 9 this Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Other items include:
- Canned fruits
- Juices
- Peanut butter
- Tuna
- Pasta
- Pasta sauce
- Mac and cheese
- Cereal
2023 Founder’s Day food drive
In 2023, 5,700 Nexstar employees across the company volunteered more than 17,500 hours of service at 240 charitable organizations.
