Tim McGraw Set to Star in New Netflix Drama About Bull Riding

Tim McGraw is ready to keep honing his acting skills with his upcoming Netflix series.

The country entertainer, who is currently selling out venues for his ongoing Standing Room Only Tour ’24, is set to star in and executive produce the as-yet-untitled series, which centers on competitive bull riding, reports Variety.

According to the logline for the series, it will depict the story of “a megastar champion [McGraw] facing a life-or-death crossroads when confronted by the arrival of a fearless young rider whose existence challenges his ways and unearths secrets that force him to reckon with his past.”

The series comes from Skydance Television and was unveiled during Netflix’s upfront presentation to advertisers on Wednesday (May 15). Brandon Camp (known for 2018’s Benji) will serve as creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner for the series, with Taylor Elmore (Justified) also serving as co-showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers for the series include Joel Bergvall, Brian Kaplan and Tim Staples for Down Home, as well as David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television.

In addition to his role as one of country music’s foremost entertainers, McGraw is known for roles in movies and series including the Yellowstone prequel series 1883, The Blind Side, Country Strong and Friday Night Lights.

The next show on McGraw’s Standing Room Only Tour ’24 is set for May 16 in Greenville, South Carolina at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The tour also has upcoming shows in Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and other cities.
