Suspect arrested for robbing man at Byrne Dairy in Fulton

FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Saturday, May 11, Fulton Police were called to an armed robbery at the Byrne Dairy on Emery Street.

The victim said a man approached him while he was sitting in a booth inside the store. The man then held a large knife against the victim’s side and told him to give him all his belongings and money, Fulton Police said.

Although the victim didn’t have any money, he did give the robber his cell phone. The robber then head butted and punched the man in the face, police say.

On Tuesday, May 14, Fulton Police found the suspect, 38-year-old Kevin Vandelinder, and arrested him after a short foot chase.

Vandelinder is now charged with:

  • 1 count of Robbery in the first degree – Class B Felony

  • 1 count of Assault in the second degree – Class D Felony
  • 1 count of Menacing in the second degree – Class A Misdemeanor
  • 1 count of Resisting arrest – Class A Misdemeanor

He was arraigned on Wednesday, May 15, and remanded to the Oswego County Jail, on no bail.
