Sunday is the best day of the weekend

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – After needing the umbrellas Saturday afternoon/evening do Central New Yorkers need to keep the rain gear nearby this holiday weekend? Details are below…

Mild with areas of fog rest of the night

Temperatures cool into the 50s and low 60s with areas of fog under a partly cloudy sky as the Saturday evening cold front slides out of CNY and allows high pressure to settle in overnight.

Nicest day of the holiday weekend

High pressure mentioned above is going to be in control of the weather for us and produce the nicest day of the holiday weekend Sunday. After some fog starts the day, we all turn partly to mostly sunny during the late morning and afternoon.

High temperatures once again are above average topping out close to 80 degrees! Perfect for just about any outdoor activities, including the Watchfire at the Fairgrounds Sunday evening! Click here for the boating and swimming weather Sunday.

A wetter end to Memorial Day weekend

Unfortunately, our thinking for Memorial Day itself has not changed the last few days. A new frontal system arrives with more scattered showers and storms around, and this time they are not confined to just late in the day. The threat of damaging winds and hail looks to be low but heavy rain seem to be more likely which may lead to localized flash flooding.

As you head back to work after Monday the pattern is shaping up to be a bit damp at times and cool into the middle of next week.
