SU women’s lacrosse routs Yale in NCAA quarterfinals


SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) –
The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team is headed back to championship weekend, after a dominating 19-9 win over Yale Thursday in the NCAA quarterfinals.
The Orange scored four goals in the first five minutes of the game, and never looked back.
The “Emma connection” helping to pace the ‘Cuse attack once again. Emma Tyrrell led the way with seven goals and two assists. Emma Ward chipped in three goals and four assists. In the draw circle, SU’s Kate Mashewske passed her head coach Kayla Treanor for most draw controls in a season with 217.
Syracuse advances to the Final Four to face the winner of Boston College/Michigan. That game will be played on Friday down in Cary, North Carolina.
