Student-Athlete of the Week: Liverpool’s Tyler Vivacqua

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR) — Tyler Vivacqua has been part of Liverpool baseball since he was able to pick up a bat
“So I’d take that drive, come out here, practice with the team, a little run around,” said Tyler Vivacqua.
His dad has been coaching Liverpool since 2006 and Tyler has grown up with the team.
I mean, I’ve always grew up growing up watching it, so just being able to live out a dream that I had when I was little. Especially watching Liverpool for however many years because I was a bat boy. So being able to be a part of this environment has been a dream come true,” said Vivacqua.
That has translated into Tyler being a natural born leader to this team.
I” think that’s paid incredible dividends. He leads 365, in the weight room, he’s leading the team offseason workout. He leads a team just does everything from start to finish, just like you would expect. You know, a captain and a guy to do like that,” said Head coach Fred Terzini.
“It’s like a family, like you have bigger brother figures as the seniors to the juniors, the sophomore is we’re all like a big family. We always support each other no matter what happens. Even if someone has a bad day, we’re always there to pick each other up,” said Vivacqua.
Now in his third season with the Warriors, Tyler is getting ready for his next chapter, playing baseball for Niagara, a step that his father’s support has gotten him to.
“I would say it’s very, very helpful. Definitely on days that I know I’m not confident he builds my confidence up. maturing as a player, he’s helped me out the most because realizing what little things that I did wrong don’t really mean anything. It’s about like what you can do after we always talk about it’s about the next pitch, not to pitch before. So that’s something that I always look to is like, if something happens, there’s always going to be a next pitch in the game,” said Vivacqua.
Congratulations Tyler, you are the Byrne Dairy and Deli NewsChannel 9 Student-Athlete of the Week.
