Motorcyclist dead after accident in the Village of Fabius

VILLAGE OF FABIUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — New York State Police are investigating a deadly accident that happened in the Village of Fabius, on May 1.

Just before 9:20 p.m., at State Route 80 and Ridge Road, a 2017 Harley Davidson, driven by a 59-year-old, was following behind a 2020 Ford Escape.

The two were headed east on State Route 80 in the Village of Fabius.

As they both were approaching the intersection of State Route 80 and Ridge Road, the motorcycle tried to pass the Ford Escape as the vehicle was making a left turn onto Ridge Road.

The motorcycle hit the side of the vehicle, and the driver was thrown from his bike.

Latest local news

The motorcyclist was taken to Upstate University Hospital and was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m., that night.

The Ford Escape driver was treated for an arm injury.

This investigation is ongoing.
