Drier this evening, warming up Thursday

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – It was definitely an umbrella kind of day for much of CNY today, but better weather is ahead. Check out the latest details below.

Rain tapers off this evening

Rain slowly but surely tapers late this afternoon and into this evening as low pressure starts to pull away.

Outside of some patchy fog overnight, expect quiet conditions along with mild lows in the 50s.

Nicer weather ahead?

Wednesday’s rain maker, stalled front and area of low pressure near the coast should slowly breakdown and shift far enough south and east so that CNY dries out for the most part Thursday.

Outside of a couple spotty showers, we will find some intervals of sunshine. Temperatures will also start to turn warmer as well, with highs on Thursday reaching the mid-70s.

An approaching cold front from the west may throw some showers into the area toward sunset Friday, but we may get through all of Friday dry. Highs will reach the upper-70s to around 80.

The weekend outlook has improved at this point too! Check out the latest 7-day forecast.
