Crunch defeat Amerks 5-2 and advance to North Division Finals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WSYR) — After going up 2-0 in the first period, the Syracuse Crunch held off Rochester to take the 5-2 win on the road.

Declan Carlile got the first goal on the board then six minutes later Cole Koepke scored from the right circle. The Amerks would score early in the second period then Syracuse would put up another goal from Waltteri Merelä to make it 3-1.

Despite Rochester trying to make a comeback putting up another goal in the second, the third period was all Syracuse. Koepke would score his second of the night followed by Félix Robert scoring the fifth and final goal of the night sealing the win for the Crunch.

The team now heads to the North Division Finals and will play the Cleveland Monsters in a best-of-five series.

The North Division Finals series will have the following schedule:
– Game 1 — Thursday, May 16, 7 p.m. – Cleveland, OH
– Game 2 — Saturday, May 18, 1 p.m. – Cleveland, OH
Game 3 — Wednesday, May 22, 7 p.m. – Syracuse, N.Y.
Game 4 — Friday, May 24, 7 p.m. – Syracuse, N.Y. (if necessary)
– Game 5 — Sunday, May 26, 3 p.m. – Cleveland, OH (if necessary)
